Jump Into Spring with Liv Multifamily

Spring is the season of renewal. As nature revives itself, dormant plants begin growing. Seedlings start sprouting and taking root. Hibernating animals (yes, some animals hibernate in Arizona!) wake from their winter slumbers. For families, spring is a time to enjoy the warmer weather and longer days. Are you looking for fun spring activities to do with kids? We’ve got you covered. Jump into spring with Liv Multifamily!

Get Crafty

While you can do art projects any time of the year, now’s the perfect time to start incorporating some spring themes. Here are a few springtime craft ideas for kids to enjoy:

Sensory Play

Put together some spring-themed sensory activities. Use a variety of dried and dyed pasta shapes to create a butterfly lifecycle sensory bin or make naturally-scented calming lavender slime. Homemade playdough is always a hit, too.

Create Nature Crafts

Take arts and crafts for kids to another level by incorporating nature into your projects. Have your kids gather and press flowers to make dazzling suncatchers. Make a house for the fairies out of clay and decorate it with rocks, sticks, and plants. Another fun (and popular) craft idea is collecting different types of flowers to make a crown or bracelet.

Get Scientific

Enjoy spring and learn something new with springtime science experiments. An easy and fun idea is to make color-changing flowers. Learn how plants breathe by submerging a leaf in water. Or, if you have any laying around, see what liquid dissolves the quickest.

Participate in Art Classes

Bring your kids to some fun spring-themed arts and crafts classes this spring. You’ll find plenty of places in and around Phoenix that offer painting, pottery, jewelry-making, and more. You can also let your kids get crafty right here in the Liv community. Our weekly Kids Club always has something fun to offer, including arts and crafts.

Spend Time Outdoors

Take advantage of the gorgeous spring weather and spend some time outdoors. The fresh air and sunshine will keep everyone in high spirits with ample doses of Vitamin D. Just be sure to remember your sunscreen and water bottles.

Playground Fun

What kid doesn’t love the playground? With slides, climbing bars, swings, and other equipment, they get to have fun and be physically active at the same time. At Liv, our on-site playground means that families don’t even have to leave the community to experience the simple joy of some playground fun.

Garden

Planting flowers, fruits, or vegetables and watching them grow can be a rewarding experience for adults. It’s also a great learning opportunity for kids. While gardening in an apartment is traditionally a bit of a challenge, Liv communities feature a community garden for our residents to share. You can tend plants as a family, soak up the sunshine, and socialize with your neighbors.

Make a Scavenger Hunt

Turn a trip outdoors into a fun scavenger hunt. Write down a list of items for your kids to find while you’re taking a walk around the community. Alternatively, you can make a nature-related bingo board. These types of outdoor activities are great for getting kids to take a closer look at the world around them.

Have a Picnic

The outdoor fun doesn’t have to end at mealtime. Why not have a picnic? Prepare food ahead of time or make something fresh from scratch using Liv’s outdoor community kitchen. Not only will you enjoy a delicious meal, but you’ll also save on energy costs since you won’t have to cool your apartment down after heating it up.

Enjoy Local Activities

Phoenix has a lot to offer families with kids of all ages. Add some local excursions into your plans with these awesome local spring activities:

Visit a Museum

Learn something new and get hands-on at one of Arizona’s many museums and science centers. Some of the most popular ones include the Arizona Museum of Natural History, the IDEA Museum, and the Arizona Science Center.

Check Out Farmers Markets

Farmers markets offer a unique opportunity to purchase fresh, seasonal produce and handmade items directly from local farmers and artisans. Many markets around Phoenix also feature local food vendors and live entertainment.

Explore National Parks

There’s no shortage of national and state parks to explore in Arizona. See how beautiful the desert can be with a hike through Catalina State Park, Joshua Tree National Park, or McDowell Mountain Regional Park. Whichever parks you decide to visit, make sure you bring your camera and comfortable shoes for walking.

Enjoy Everything Spring Has to Offer

With so many incredible spring activities to do with kids, you’ll never run out of ways to enjoy the season and stay busy. All Liv communities are centrally-located, making it easy to get to some of Arizona’s top museums, parks, restaurants, and more. Or, you can stick close to home and enjoy our outdoor kitchen, playground, pools, and a full calendar of organized events.
